Memphis

It's official - we are moving to Memphis. Ryan was pursued by a great program there and we accepted the week the baby was born. He will be teaching and coaching at Evangelical Christian School (ECS). We went there together to interview the last week of April and were so impressed with the school, people, and programs. They spent 2 days with us, really trying to answer all of our questions and give us a good sense for the community. Most importantly to me, everyone from the head coach to the high school principal to the President of the school made it very clear that they wanted Ryan.

Ryan started this week and the kids and I will join him in Memphis sometime by the end of July. We are sad to leave our family, friends, and church here in Nashville but I'm also so excited to see what this next phase of our life holds for us. It was very clear to me during this process that God wanted us in Memphis - all signs pointed that way, even though we would have much preferred to move to Atlanta if we were going to move. Sometimes God has different plans than we would have for ourselves - and I know that they always turn out better than our own idea of perfect. So even though moving to Memphis wasn't really what we would have chosen for ourselves, it is beyond comforting to me to know that we are right where God would have us to be.

I am tempted daily to get overwhelmed with all of the details and logistics that need to happen between now and the end of next month but I know that God is in control of all of those details as well and I am choosing to rest in that. If you'd like to pray for us, please pray for these things:

*Our house here in Nashville will rent
*We will find a house to rent or buy in Memphis - our preference is to buy but we haven't found anything yet and don't want to rush into the decision
*Ryan's first few weeks would go great and that he would begin to develop the foundations for solid relationships with the ECS community
*Our time away from each other
*The logistics regarding moving
*We will find a church there and get connected easily & soon
*New friendships

One of my besties, Rebecca, lives in Memphis but is moving at the end of this month - we had dinner with her sweet family when we were there last weekend and they had this sign on the dinner table at Ryan's place - talk about GREAT friends! I am beyond bummed that our moving vans will pass each other on the interstate but am thankful to have a great resource for all things Memphis.

I'm also thankful that our good friends David & Mandy are moving to Memphis this month so we have a couple friend that will be new to town and learning the ropes with us. I'm probably the most thankful that Nanny Annie is coming with us...seriously, there are no words to describe the amount of comfort that brings me!

So...here is to new adventures on the horizon. Thanks for your prayers...and GO EAGLES!!!
